Search terms
A name, location, or other text entered into a sponsored search tool is sent to the third-party provider operating that tool. Craven County Busted Mugshots does not store or log those search terms on its own servers.
Messages
An email or contact message is kept so a reply can be made. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law or a valid legal process.
Technical Data and Cookies
Normal page requests can produce technical details such as the following:
- IP address
- Browser type and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent
- Referring page, when available
- Request timestamps
Cookies
Cookies may help measure use and support site functions. Browser settings can block them. Some features may act differently when cookies are disabled.
How Information Is Used
- Keep pages working and improve load speed.
- Send search requests to the selected partner.

Outside Links and Partners
Pages link to county rosters, police and sheriff pages, courts, corrections agencies, federal locators, news outlets, and third-party tools. Once a link is opened, that provider’s privacy notice controls its handling of information. Advertising partners may track activity across sites on their own systems for targeted ads.
Who May Receive Data
Personal data is not sold. It may be provided to search partners handling submitted queries, analytics services, advertising networks, or law-enforcement and government bodies acting under a valid legal order.
Security Efforts
Reasonable security practices are used, but no internet-connected system is fully secure. No promise can be made that data will be breach-proof.
People Under 18
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If a minor submitted data, a parent or guardian may contact the operator to request deletion.
